Newcastle v Chelsea highlights

It was just about a satisfactory performance, particularly in the second half. A shocking misunderstanding between Alex and Cech gifted Carroll an early goal. Kalou equalised with a deflected shot just before half-time. Chelsea had most of the possession but failed to trouble Krul often enough.

Chelsea played against a weakened Newcastle side, with Campbell and Taylor starting together for the first time - and no Joey Barton. Drogba's goal was rightfully disallowed and Kalou managed to miss when it seemed like it'd be easier to score. But Newcastle had their chances too, most notably when Cole cleared Routledge's shot off the line.

I thought Ramires had his best game for Chelsea so far. There was a sense of urgency about his play, typified by a lung-busting run from one penalty area to the other. He, along with Cole, was one of the few players who were making things happen, forcing mistakes and pressing the ball.

  1. Hey, came across your site today. Love the 2D videos and short recaps, cool stuffs. Keep it up and hopefully Chelsea get out of the funk they've been in lately.

  2. Thanks, glad you enjoy them! Having Essien available to play again will certainly help. Lampard and Terry should be returning soon too. We've got some huge games coming up in December - a great opportunity to get back on track.
